Hi all, robnap here from NSW, Australia. I am trying hard to be green and I now work in the environmental sustainability sector. One of my interests is Gardening. I grow my own fresh vegies in my home garden. There is nothing better and more satisfying than eating your own home grown and freshly picked vegies. See my gallery for some of last years and this Decembers vegies. A wise person once told me that you get back what you put in. This meaning, if you make sure your soil is full of good manure, compost, fertiliser and some lime, then you will reap the rewards at harvest time. Unfortunately sometimes I go a little overboard and my vegies grow enormously quick and large, especially my zucchini, which sometimes mutate to a watermelon size. I like to combine chicken, cow and sheep manure with ( Blood and Bone fertiliser with trace elements & potash ), some compost and Lime. Encorporate it into a good soil a couple of weeks before planting, and wallah! Your vegies will have enough nourishment to last through the growing period. Is there anyone else out there that is as enthusiastic as I am about home grown vegies. If so, tell us your story and show us the vegies.
