For many of us, the Holiday Season can be a dynamic and challenging time of year.
I'm not really sure what it is...Perhaps it's the ending of a year and the uncertainty of a new one...Could be seeing all those friends and family members that only seem to come 'round when the sleigh bells are jingling...Maybe it's just the memories of all our previous years and the unfulfilled goals we always seem to set for ourselves.
What ever it is, for me, the Holiday Season always conjures up self reflection.
It never seems to fail that I catch myself looking within, examining where I am, and where I've been. Looking outward to see where I'm headed, and what the path ahead looks like. This year, it's no different...This year, I'm once agiain examining where I am right now, what got me here, and where I'm headed.
This year, however, unlike any other year before, I have a new vision. I have a new hope, and I have my 'Why'....
Something is different this year. My entire life has lead me to this very point in time. To this very doorway into my future. The decisions I have made along the way have all culminated at this exact momement which represents me...Here, now...
With all the changes of 2009 now behind me, I find myself moving forward at light speed, onto brand new horizons. I've commetted myself to a new path which offers me a hope and a focus I've never had. There is something about the empowerment we get when we've gone out on a limb, trusting in something simply because we believe we can.
Sometimes, some people do extraordinary things. Most times, most people do normal things.
To committ to yourself and reach for the things that most will tell you are beyond you, is to allow yourself the ability to attain the things that most will not.
To push yourself beyond your preconceived limitaitons into a realm of newness is true growth. To teach yourself new skills and strive for improvement is real life.
As the new year approaches, allow yourself the chance to look within. Ask yourself what you're willing to do for you to make this year your best yet. Ask yourself the real questions that only you know how to ask. How much are you willing to do this year for you?
